1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using the LCL League website and services, you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provisions of this agreement. If you do not agree to these Terms of Service, please do not use our services.

2. Description of Service

LCL League provides an online platform for managing and participating in FIFA/EA Sports FC Pro Clubs leagues. Our services include:

• Team registration and management
• Player profiles and statistics tracking
• Match scheduling and results
• League standings and fixtures
• Transfer system between teams
• Discord integration for community features

3. Eligibility and Age Requirements

3.1 Age Requirement

You must be at least 13 years old to use our service. By creating an account, you represent that you meet this age requirement. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 has created an account, please contact us immediately.

3.2 Account Registration

To access certain features, you must register for an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update such information to keep it accurate, current, and complete.

3.3 Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

3.4 Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms of Service or engage in conduct that we deem inappropriate or harmful to the community. Upon termination, your data will be handled per our Privacy Policy (deleted within 90 days, anonymized stats may remain).

4. User Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any laws
• Harass, abuse, or harm other users
• Impersonate any person or entity
• Upload or transmit viruses or malicious code
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
• Interfere with or disrupt the service or servers
• Use automated systems (bots) without permission
• Manipulate statistics or game results
• Share or sell your account

Consequences: Violation of these conduct rules may result in:

• Warning from administrators
• Temporary suspension (7-30 days)
• Permanent account termination
• Reporting to authorities (for illegal activity)

5. Content

5.1 User Content License

You retain ownership of content you submit (team logos, player names, etc.). By submitting content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to:

• Display your content on our website
• Use it for league operations (fixtures, standings, etc.)
• Share it within our Discord community
• Use it in promotional materials for the league

This license ends when you delete your account, except for historical records (past match results, archived standings).

5.2 Content Standards

All content must be appropriate and not contain:

• Offensive, discriminatory, or hateful material
• Copyrighted material you don't have rights to use
• Personal information of others without consent
• Spam or misleading information

5.3 Content Responsibility

Users are responsible for ensuring they have rights to upload content (team logos, images). Do not upload:

• Copyrighted logos without permission
• Trademarked content you don't own
• Real club badges or official team logos

We may remove infringing content without notice.

5.4 Content Removal

We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these terms or that we deem inappropriate.

6. League Rules

Participation in the league is subject to league-specific rules and regulations. Key rules include:

• Match scheduling windows and attendance requirements
• Team roster requirements and limits
• Transfer window periods
• Code of conduct and fair play expectations
• Match result submission procedures

Violations may result in:

• Match forfeits
• Point deductions
• Temporary suspension
• Account termination

League administrators have the authority to enforce these rules and make decisions regarding league operations. Detailed league rules are available through our Discord server.

7. Statistics and Data

7.1 Accuracy

We strive for accurate statistics but cannot guarantee 100% accuracy. Stats are based on user-submitted match results.

7.2 Disputes

If you believe statistics are incorrect, contact league admins through Discord within 7 days of the match. After 7 days, statistics are considered final.

7.3 Historical Data

Past season statistics may be retained for historical records even after account deletion (in anonymized form per our Privacy Policy).

8. Fees and Payment

8.1 Current Policy

LCL League is currently free to use. We do not charge registration fees, subscription fees, or transaction fees.

8.2 Future Changes

We reserve the right to introduce fees in the future. We will provide at least 30 days' notice before implementing any fees, and existing users will have the option to discontinue service without penalty.

9. Intellectual Property

The LCL League website, including its design, features, and functionality, is owned by us and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our content without permission.

FIFA and EA Sports FC are trademarks of Electronic Arts Inc. LCL League is not affiliated with or endorsed by EA.

10. Third-Party Services

Our service integrates with third-party services including:

• Discord for community features
• Cloudinary for image hosting
• Supabase for data storage

Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms of service and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of external websites.

11. Disclaimers and Warranties

11.1 Service Availability

We provide the service "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

11.2 Data Accuracy

While we strive for accuracy, we do not guarantee that all statistics, standings, or other data will be completely accurate or up-to-date.

11.3 Volunteer Service

As a community-run organization, we provide this service on a volunteer basis. We make no guarantees about service quality, availability, or data preservation.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, LCL League shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of or inability to use the service.

Important: Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for:

• Death or personal injury caused by negligence
• Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation
• Any liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law

13. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify LCL League, its administrators, and volunteers from reasonable claims arising from:

• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any law or third-party rights
• Content you upload or submit

Note: As a volunteer community organization, we do not have the resources to pursue legal action. This clause is primarily to establish responsibility principles.

14. Termination

14.1 Our Right to Terminate

We may terminate or suspend your access to the service immediately, without prior notice, for any reason, including breach of these Terms of Service.

14.2 Your Right to Terminate

You may terminate your account at any time through account settings or by contacting us. Upon termination:

• Your personal data will be deleted per our Privacy Policy (within 90 days)
• Your historical statistics may be retained in anonymized form
• You forfeit any in-progress league participation

15. Dispute Resolution

15.1 User Disputes

For disputes between users (match results, transfers, etc.):

• Contact league administrators through Discord
• Admins will mediate and make final decisions
• Decisions are made in good faith but are not legally binding

15.2 Disputes with LCL League

For disputes with LCL League:

• Contact us through Discord or website
• We will attempt to resolve informally
• As a volunteer organization, we cannot provide formal arbitration

16. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. We will notify users of significant changes via:

• Email notification to registered users
• Prominent notice on our website
• Announcement in our Discord server

Changes take effect 7 days after notification. Your continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

17. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Norway, without regard to conflict of law provisions.

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Norway.

Note: As a community-run organization, we do not have established formal dispute resolution procedures. We encourage informal resolution through our Discord community first. However, if legal action becomes necessary, Norwegian law and courts will apply.

18. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
